At the edge of the Peak District

The land and the walks

Fourteen acres near Hathersage, with the moor above and the river below. Big skies, early light, and quiet you can hear.

Where you are

Green, quiet, and close to it all

The famous edges and dales sit right on the doorstep. Walk out of the gate and you are in it, no car needed.

From the gate

What is within a walk

On foot

Stanage Edge

About 40 minutes up through the fields.

Down the hill

The Derwent

The river is about 10 minutes away.

For a pint

The Millstone

25 minutes across two fields, dogs welcome.

Signal

Switch off

No wifi, and the phone signal is patchy.

The quiet on purpose

Room to switch off

There is no wifi here, and we do not pretend the phone signal is good, because it is not. Bring a book and let the day go slow.

The cabins have the famous outdoor bath for exactly this. Hot water under an open sky, once the walking is done.
